Introduction
The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Wireless Communications Systems Engineer.
Responsibilities
Wireless communications engineer supporting various Government sponsors. Perform communication systems engineering tasks as required to support the development and testing of the performance of wireless communications networks.Communications System Analysis: Perform analysis of wireless communications technologies and standards with focus on vulnerabilities using both standards background and device-specific information.Test and Evaluation: Perform in-house and field testing of prototype and operational wireless systems including test concept/definition, test planning, use of laboratory test equipment, analysis, and reporting of results.
Qualifications
Required: BS or equivalent in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline. 5 years professional experience. Educational or work experience in communications systems. Strong oral and written communications skills.
Desired: MS/PhD or equivalent in electrical engineering or closely related discipline. Educational and work experience in wireless communication system prototype development, test and evaluation. Experience in communication system design and systems engineering applied to DoD and IC sponsor missions. Knowledge of implementations of contemporary commercial wireless devices.
