Introduction
The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking an Electronic Warfare Systems Engineer.

Responsibilities
Conduct concept development, architectural trades and performance analysis in support of next generation Navy surface Electronics Warfare systems development.

Duties: Play a key systems engineering role in the development of several advanced surface electronic warfare (EW) systems for the U. S. Navy and help establish JHU/APL leadership in the EW area. Duties include generating performance requirements and validating those requirements through development and analysis of notional architectural concepts. Work within a multi-disciplinary team to assess feasibility and risks associated with future EW system concepts. Interact with the Navy sponsor to better understand warfighter needs and establish roadmaps to meet those needs. Perform analysis and modeling to support concept trade studies. Develop new soft kill techniques and analyze effectiveness against current and future threats. Help define advanced technology development programs needed to support future EW systems.

Qualifications

Required: BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Five - ten years experience in radar or electronic warfare systems development and analysis. Ability work within a multidisciplinary team and independently conduct analyses. Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Desired: MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Direct experience in electronic warfare systems technologies and/or electronic warfare test and evaluation programs. Experience in advanced RF systems technologies.

Security
Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.

Security clearances are necessary for most positions. Holding U.S. citizenship is part of the requirements for obtaining a clearance.
