Introduction
The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Data Fusion Engineer.
Responsibilities
Design and implement algorithms for data mining and fusion to support counter-improvised explosive device (C-IED) programs.
Duties
Develop and implement algorithms for the fusion of data from disparate sources that enables automatic recognition of both known threatening patterns and unknown data anomalies. Design decision support systems that are capable of quickly assimilating large amounts of data that indicate trends, anomalies, and warnings of potential threatening situations. Support Program and Project Managers by interfacing with sponsors, developing white papers and proposals, and managing resources.
Qualifications
Required
PhD in Math, Computer Science, or related discipline and at least 5 years of experience in implementing analytical solutions for detection, classification, or decision making for DOD sponsored projects. Must be able to work with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers and engineers to rapidly develop and implement prototype solutions. Demonstrated proficiency in Satellite Tool Kit (STK) and QT-Viewer. Strong interpersonal skills a must. Excellent oral and writing communication skills. U.S. citizen. Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired
Experienced and proficient in software development and use of MATLAB or similar programs. 10+ year of experience developing information fusion systems. Active TS/SCI is highly desired.
