Introduction
The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Mini-RF Post Doctoral Fellow.
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, acquisition, and analysis of Mini-RF radar data of the lunar surface. Conduct planetary science research. Helping plan observations of the Mini-RF instruments. Analysis of Mini-RF data. Conducting research in support of NASA's lunar exploration program. Development of new areas of research, mission concepts or instrumentation for purpose of furthering geophysical investigations of planets, satellites and asteroids. Researching the lunar pole illumination and thermal conditions.
Qualifications
Required:
PhD in Planetary Science or related field. Excellent numerical and analytical skills. Demonstration of planetary remote sensing experience.
Desired:
Good knowledge of GIS type software (IDL, ENVI, ISIS) and image and data processing. Participation on planetary missions. Demonstration of lunar research. Experience with radar data.
