Complete Description
Responsible for effectively managing and administering the Washington Regional Occupational Health program, including Annual Health requirements of staff, physicians, volunteers, and others; Workers' Comp. program; pre-employment/post-offer health assessments; pre-employment drug screens; interacting with employees on a regular basis regarding their specific or general health concerns; reporting required and requested information to various appropriate committees, agencies, and commissions, and other projects or programs that may be assigned to the Occupational Health function. This position has exposure to chemicals and equipment as normally related to an office environment in addition to blood, blood products and needles. The majority of work time is spent sitting (up to 80% of work time) with frequent standing and walking of short distances (up to 20% of time).
Demonstrated recent competency is required in occupational health/occupational medicine environment, preferable addressing employee health issues of health care workers. Demonstrated strong and positive interpersonal skills, proven ability to effectively communicate with diverse employee/physician/volunteer staff. Demonstrated ability to effectively and accurately document and track work performed by an active OHS function, including recent proficiency in employee health/workers' comp and other computer usage. Demonstrated recent competence in the clinical skills required by the technical duties of the position including but not limited to blood draws, urine specimen collection, health assessment information gathering and analysis, etc. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage subordinates and accomplish department goals through subordinates.
In addition to strong occupational health clinical skills, the successful candidate will need to possess a strong business acumen in order to understand and effectively manage the business aspect of a growing occupational medicine environment.
