This individual must possess excellent communication skills, have basic computer skills, and be detail oriented.
This position is responsible for accurate and timely completion of medical records according to Joint Commission, Arkansas State Health Guidelines, and WRMS Bylaws/Rules and Regulations. Responsible for retrieval of discharged records. Perform assembly, analysis and prep for scanning of inpatient, observation, patient in bed and day surgery within a two day turnaround within the incomplete record process so that missing items are found/completed. Responsible for prepping records for scanning, analysis of outpatient records within a four day turnaround time within the incomplete record process so that missing items are requested or marked for completion. Prep and scan loose material. Prep, scan and pull review charts as needed. Work with the Lead/Supervisor/Director to help with physician inbox, orders etc. Responsible for releasing medical information when Release of Information is not available. Responsible for utilizing dictation system to locate pending dictation. Perform transcription corrections. All duties are performed consistent with current policies and procedures.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively, to problem solve and make decisions. Acuity to five senses is required in contact with physicians, co-workers and hospital staff. Ability to stand/walk, bend/stoop/twist up to or exceeding 8 hours during shift while rounding in all areas of the hospital. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds or more multiple times in a shift. Able to push in excess of 40 pound cart multiple times in a shift. May spend 4 or more hours in front on computer(s)/monitor(s) or similar screen utilizing keyboard and mouse. Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations associated with continuity of care issues. Has a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity to respond to qualitative and quantitative issues regarding the organization of the medical record and data required for completion.
This position is also cross-trained in the physician support area functions. This position functions according to the WRMC HIPAA guidelines.

DESCRIBE THE SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
Knowledge of computers and other standard office equipment at a level normally acquired through completion of high school studies and one additional year of office experience and/or training in a medical office or similar environment. Good customer service and communication skills required. The ability to perform quality focused repetitive task work with good problem solving techniques. Medical Terminology, RHIT or RHIA credential is preferred.
