Responsible for direct care of patients having Imaging and interventional radiological procedures in Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology and Interventional Radiology. Performs a variety of technical and nursing functions, which requires reasonable independent judgment under moderate supervision. This position has exposure to communicable disease, body fluids, radiation, and chemicals. This position spends the majority of the time standing and walking (up to 60% of work time). Frequent lifting, pushing/pulling and carrying of up to 100 lbs. is frequently required when positioning patients and equipment (up to 30% of work time). This position serves a variety of age groups: Adults (up to 39% of the time) and geriatrics (60%). The position will be required to take standby call on nights, weekends and holidays. Other duties may be assigned as needed for the workflow of the Imaging Department.
Arkansas RN licensure. BLS, ACLS and PALS or obtained within 3 months of hire date.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
Requires knowledge of Imaging principles and practices as generally associated with Imaging and interventional radiology procedures. Minimum qualification includes Arkansas RN license, BLS, PALS and ACLS. ACLS and PALS may be obtained within 3 months of hire date. Preferred qualifications include 2 years of previous experience in interventional radiology procedure lab, Imaging or critical care setting experience. Effectively administer to the needs of the patient, physician and other team members. Must be proficient in monitoring and circulating all interventional radiology procedure cases. Must implement emergency care when necessary.
