Job Description:
Position Summary: Serves as an extension of Medical Center administration and management staff in their absence. Collaborates with leadership and staff of other departments/services and physicians to ensure quality care is provided to the patients/families served by the Medical Center. T
he House Leader maintains and monitors clinical standards and maintains shift line responsibility for fiscal human and material resources. Meets organizational standards
Essential Functions: Other duties may be assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job. Proactively matches existing human and material resources throughout the assigned shift for the Medical Center.
Matches demands and resources during crisis situations within the Medical Center. Supports effective communication through maintaining systems that enable opportunities for all staff to provide input regarding patient care issues. Promotes a work environment that is highly supportive of a professional practice system. Identifies ways to improve customer service streamline care processes and lower costs. Monitors quality of care by interacting with patients/families/staff/physicians on a daily basis.
Actively participates in the identification of problems/issues of concerns that impede the delivery of quality care to patients and families in the Medical Center. Supports quality of work life initiatives at the unit and department levels. Implements contingency plans for timely patient placement when patient volumes exceed available resources.
Facilitates communications and collaboration with physicians to improve the level of service for the Medical Center. Demonstrates the core values of the Medical Center in all interactions with staff customers and the public. Communicates appropriate information accurately and timely to the administrator on call. Initiates and supports change by utilizing the input of experts critical thinking and the empowerment of others. Other duties may be assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Management Responsibilities: The House Leader does not have any direct reports but serves as an extension of management and administration in their absence.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in nursing required Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred. Three to five years experience in a clinical role required. Three to five years management experience required.
Certificates Licenses Registrations: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with Kansas State Board of Nursing.
