Position Summary:
Directs all aspects of Via Christi corporate and foundation giving programs. This position is also responsible for overseeing grant writing and grant management for Via Christi Health.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Researches federal and state grants and foundations or corporations who may have an interest in funding a project at Via Christi Health.
- Develops and manages a grant tracking system.
- Works with department directors in developing proposals for grant monies from external sources.
- Researches funding sources for possible matches of Via Christi Health projects.
- Communicates regularly (verbally and through written word) with funding sources on status of grant requests.
- Directs and coordinates multiple projects/proposals simultaneously and prioritizes them according to the Via Christi Health strategic plan.
- Reviews all grant requests coming into the Foundation and CMN from internal departments.
- Responsible for raising a minimum of $1 000 000+ annually.
- Writes grants to federal state regional and local funding sources.
- Develops relationships with funding sources’ directors to ensure success in acquiring funds.
- Works closely with Via Christi Health Marketing and Public Relations staff.
- Develops new and innovative ways to gain support from corporations using marketing/research and development dollars as well as charitable dollars.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in English or related field required with five years experience in successful grant writing or related experience required.
