QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
- Previous experience with law enforcement, security operations, public safety, and/or fire departments preferred.
- Good public relations and communication skills a must.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Competent to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs which may apply based on the age of the patient served (see Job Description Addendum - Age Specific Competencies).
- Successful completion of a 90-day training period while serving as a VHS security officer.
- Successful completion of security certification within one (1) year of employment.
- Criminal background checks include:
- Virginia State Police
- Third-party background check
