The Company

Your Role:
The contracts function is regarded as a valued business partner; you will be the trusted business advisor to the Division Head regarding all aspects of the contract development and management process. This is not simply a support role. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to build the contract organization from the ground up. You will be developing the infrastructure to support rapid growth (they have grown 25% annually for the past 5 years).

This is a key leadership role with an emphasis on strategic thinking, customer focus, performance and results orientation and innovation. People development is also key.

Key Responsibilities
You will develop and manage the contracts organization, for a $100M per year division of a growing high tech company. Responsibilities include supervision of contracts personnel, supporting all aspects of the contracting process including proposal preparation, fact finding, negotiation, and contract administration.

• Leadership and development of Contract professionals
• Thorough understanding of FAR/DFARS and Prime Contractor flow down provisions.
• Ensure appropriate contract clause flowdowns into Purchase Orders and supplier subcontracts
• Flexible and able to multitask while delivering timely, high quality products
• Understanding of competitive procurements
• Good understanding of proposal cost structure, material estimates, development costs, performance requirements, delivery schedules and terms and conditions for accuracy and completeness
• Support the development and preparation of high quality, complex proposals and business agreements
• Participation on product and functional leadership teams
• Proposal preparation, fact-finding, and negotiation activities with various customers
• Analysis, preparation and presentation of business metric data
• Support and Liason between the Business Development and Finance Teams
• Engage and coordinate with all external legal counsel as primary point of contact for DoD programs
• Ensure compliance with US Government regulations and statutes including but not limited to certification of cost or pricing data, patent clauses, procurement integrity, organizational conflict of interest, defective pricing, etc.
• Assist Business Development and Program Managers with contract and sub-contract negotiations. Purchasing, when required, to review suppliers, clauses and T&C reviews of POs.

Education
• Bachelors degree required (Masters or JD preferred), with strong leadership, negotiation, communication and planning skills.

Required Skills
• 10+ years experience in contract management/administration with at least 3 years leading a contracts group.
• Extensive experience with government contract practices including FAR, AMS and commercial contract law.
• Demonstrated international contracts experience and ability to support occasional travel.
