Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Develop environmental waste management policy, environmental reports and training.
  • Conduct the annual environment review, sampling as needed and monitoring PH levels on a periodic basis.
  • Coordinate and record retention of disposal of liquid waste, active OTC, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and recycling material.
  • Ensure compliance inspections are scheduled and completed such as fire sprinkler system, emergency lighting, ladders, fall protection, hoist and sling, and fire alarm system.
  • Assist with updating safety and health policies. Develop and conduct training as it relates to OSHA and EPA regulatory standards.
  • Maintain SDS system to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and updates.
  • Archive and maintain SDS Online system and assist with regulatory training on SDS system. Audit the facility to verify SDS program is in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct PPE assessment certification for all chemicals used and physical hazards with annual review requirements.
  • Maintain and update the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Company Web Page.
  • Coordinate the annual scheduling of First Aid, CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogen training. Document training and maintain records.
  • Manages the Hearing Conservation Program including audiogram testing and sound level surveys.
  • Assist EHS Specialist with special projects and serve as a backup in absence of EHS Specialist.
  • Assist Operations and managerial teams to understand OSHA and EPA regulations and standards.
  • Evaluate facility conditions for safety, environmental and health hazards. Develop and manage hazard control practices and programs.
  • Work closely with the Operations Team on safety and environmental initiatives and opportunities for improvement.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and influence others.
  • Must be able to maintain professional demeanor when in pressure situation.
  • Must have strong organizational ability and aptitude for handling multiple projects in a fast-paces environment.
  • Ability to identify problems and formulate approaches to identifying solutions.
  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and oral.
