Job Details:

St. Jude Medical, an Abbott Labs co., seeks qualified Clinical Eng II in St. Paul, MN. Design, develop, execute & document preclinical animal studies that simulate human clinical procedures to evaluate & characterize performance of devices used in cardiac electrophysiologic procedures. Bachelors or foreign equiv in Biomed Eng or rltd fld of study w/ min. 2 yrs of rltd pro exp. Alternatively will accept Masters or foreign equiv in Biomed Eng or in rltd fld of study. Each alt req must possess academic or industrial background in: (i) using project mgmt tools to report & track issues; (ii) system-lvl or functional testing w/ software, firmware, & hardware interfaces; (iii) biomed signal processing using MATLAB or similar tools for signal collection, processing & amplification to aid research & analysis of clinical data; (iv) med device mfg ops w/ tech knowledge of NCMR, process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ), etc. to interface w/ cross-functional process development & mfg teams; (v) assessing med device failure modes & effects & handling risk mgmt ctrl docs, s/a PFMEA, DFMEA or UFMEA; (vi) prototyping med devices used for clinical research using 3D computer-aided design software tools. Employer will accept any suitable combo of education, training, or exp. An EOE. 40 hrs/wk. $98,488 - $120,000/year.
