Lean Manager
The Lean Manufacturing Manager reports to the Director of Manufacturing and is responsible for developing, managing, and executing a Lean Manufacturing / waste reduction strategy in support of the facility achieving world class manufacturing performance.
Essential Functions:
- Supports and fosters the vision of building and sustaining a world class manufacturing facility through the optimization Lean Manufacturing principles
- Responsible for developing a Lean Manufacturing strategy for all the manufacturing assets to ensure that the facility’s objectives are met in the areas of safety, quality, profitability, waste reduction, quality, and team excellence.
- Leads a group of Lean Coordinators that are responsible for resourcing Lean initiatives across all manufacturing assets.
- Liaison with external departments (Planning & Scheduling, Purchasing, Tech Support, Quality, etc.) in support of meeting customer expectations and business performance goals.
- Ensures that all policies and procedures are understood and followed.
- Optimizes available resources for use in driving continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives through waste reduction.
- Analyzes manufacturing data to identify continuous improvement and cost saving opportunities through waste reduction.
- Ensures that customer expectations are understood and met.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering or associated discipline and a minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience in a Lean Manufacturing / High Performance Operating Team environment. OR
- An Associate degree and / or Lean certification with a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Lean Manufacturing / High Performance Operating Team environment with a demonstrated track record of being promoted to positions with progressively more responsibilities.
- Excellent understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and High Performance Operating Teams.
- Strong verbal, written and analytical skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks
- Six Sigma certification preferred.
