Job Summary:

Administers the Learning Management System to ensure courses play properly, learners can access the material, updates are managed and tested and reports are reliable and available to users. Provides quality, effective online training and development services of a high professional standard. Provides video and audio recording services in support of educational courses for staff and patients. Maintains an infrastructure for the development and management of patient education materials across Regional Health.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:
  • Act as the primary support contact and authority for technical and functional LMS related issues; provide continuous improvement in the development and utilization of features that will allow business objectives to be met; and master all administrator and user module functions within LMS.
  • Coordinates course/module development process, from inception to completion, to meet deadlines and e-Learning standards, including negotiating time lines, budgeting, documentation of development.
  • Creates training modules that: adhere to sound instructional design principles; utilize adult learning theory; are based on clearly predefined objectives; and, contain opportunities for continuous feedback during instruction
  • Designs effective and appealing multimedia content and graphics, utilizing authoring software and graphics packages consistent with adult learning theory, SCORM and graphic standards.
  • Ensures course compatibility with the LMS and Regional Health computer systems and hardware.
  • Provides technical leadership and support in planning and use of instructional technologies and interactive classroom through research and recommendations.
  • Designs brochures, flyers, booklets, or posters as required for staff or patient education while maintaining Regional Healths brand standards and printing production capability.
  • Establishes and maintains an infrastructure for the development and management of patient education materials. Provides project management and consultative services to ensure system goals for development and distribution of patient education materials are met. Collaborates with subject matter experts to draft policies and procedures and to develop, revise or purchase patient education material.
  • Records and edits both video and audio for educational course material. Makes technical decisions regarding such elements as appropriate lighting, shooting angle and placement and type of microphone. Tests all equipment to determine technical quality of recording prior to operation. Compresses, digitizes, duplicates and stores audio and video data. Keeps abreast of technology to suggest new methods of capturing and distributing audio and video.

    Additional Requirements:

    Required:
    Education - Bachelors degree in Related Field

    Preferred:
    Experience - 3+ years of Education Trainer Experience
    Education - Masters degree in Related FieldPhysical Requirements:
    Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
