Job Summary:

The Director of Ambulatory Care will demonstrate a servant leadership
style while providing direction, supervision, and support to the Western Hills Professional
Building and Foothills Regional Medical Clinic locations. The Director assures that the
clinic practices maintain a physician/patient/customer focus that supports the delivery of
the highest quality care while achieving sound financial performance. The Director assists
in establishing physician practice bench marks and standards to evaluate and provide support
in achieving optimum efficiency. Maintains knowledge and understanding of National
Standards, including Medical Group Management and American Medical Association, concerning
bench marks for physician practices. The Director works in collaboration with the Regional
Health Physician team as well as others to accomplish the strategic and operational goals of
the clinics.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:
  • Actively supports,
    maintains, and promotes organizational quality initiatives. Communicates and educates
    physicians and support staff as needed to ensure organizational understanding and compliance
    with quality standards.
  • Assist in the development of the annual operating budget
    and capital budget. Ensure that Department operations stay within operating and capital
    budgets.
  • Builds credibility with the physicians as a champion for patient care,
    quality, and practice success. Collaborates with physicians to develop and implement
    practice protocols, policies, supplies and equipment to achieve optimum quality, production,
    and patient satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates clinical knowledge, delivery of care,
    systems and analysis, and implements evidenced based practice. Supports patient care
    workflow. Assists in developing and implementing evidence based patient care
    standards/policies. Actively analyzes patient care workflow and implements changes based on
    finding.
  • Process and sign off on all bills and invoices and check request
    vouchers for the clinics, forward to RHP Director of Finance and Operations for signature if
    required.
  • Understands system and business practice concepts and work approaches
    used to systematically pursue ever-higher levels of performance. Understands or demonstrates
    understanding of strategic planning, research, and development and analysis processes that
    do not normally imply formal sequences of steps. Further understands or demonstrates
    understanding that high performance work approaches are necessary to align the
    organization`s efforts, as evidenced by improved customer relations` focus, quality
    initiatives, financial performance, and operational performance.
  • Demonstrates a
    clear understanding of core business structures, systems, practices, trends, and
    technologies within our current industry and of those in which we choose to compete in the
    future.
  • Ensures new ideas are adopted and implemented to continually support the
    healthcare mission while successfully accomplishing those goals the organization must attain
    for its strategy to succeed.
  • Ensures employees share knowledge, understand
    decisions and the reasons why decisions are made and implemented.
  • Creates an
    environment in which people feel valued, respected, and energized to explore new methods of
    doing business, generating revenue, and taking calculated risks. Develops employees based on
    linkage to business requirements and ensures employees are competent to manage change.

  • Coordinates and conducts recurring provider and clinic staff
    meetings.

    Additional Requirements:

    Required:
    Education - Bachelors degree in Business Administration Management

    Preferred:
    Experience - 1+ years of Patient Care Experience; 3+ years of Billing/Collections Experience; 3+ years of Budgeting/Forecasting Experience; 3+ years of Physician Assistant Experience, 5+ years of Management Experience
    Education - Masters degree in Health Related FieldPhysical Requirements:
    Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
