Essential Job Functions:
The Advanced practice Provider works in coordination with CV surgeons, cardiologists and other mid-level providers to care for patients clinical needs and related follow-up care.
Acts as First Assistant to surgeon during surgical procedures by performing complex surgical techniques as needed and as directed by physician. Possesses and maintains the skills to assist the surgeon during the intraoperative phase of care.
Demonstrates the ability to appropriately assess patients, apply clinical interventions, evaluate outcomes, and implement change to the plan of care. Communicates changes in patient status to meet the needs of the patient.
Dictate new patient history and physical.
Dictate discharge summaries.
Institutes appropriate emergency measures in critical situations until the physician is notified for orders or arrives to manage the emergency.
Participates in educational activities to maintain and enhance clinical expertise.
Provides education that promotes challenge, innovation, and growth to various customers, internal and external to Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Responds appropriately to emergency situations utilizing good judgment in adapting procedures to individual patient needs as evidenced by chart review, observation and feedback.
Reviews transcription and signs appropriate documents according to facility policy.
Serves as a resource person for providers, nursing staff, ancillary personnel and patient/families.
Work Hours: APP will work five days a week , 8 hour days at 40 hours a week at RCRH and some clinic time seeing post-op patients.
