Skill Classification: Chief Logistics Technician
Supervised By: Maintenance Engineer/O&M Manager
Responsible for the continued operation of the existing Kuwait Air Force warehouse designated for the S-92 program. Advise with the layout, workflow and planning of a new planned KAF warehouse. Establishes and maintains a material control program at field level for requisition, receiving, storing and issuing materials, tools, equipment and supplies in a timely manner to meet the contract workload and delivery schedule. Responsible for maintaining material requirements list, inventories, bench stock (expendable items), critical items list, receipt, storage and issue records, coordinates, processes and expedites supply transactions. Determines local and vendor repair capabilities for rebuilding and overhaul of aircraft components and accessories. Determines and forecasts material requirements, and establishes minimum stock levels. Provides liaison with the customer supply activities. Determines methods of storage, identification and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space. Prepares documentation necessary for turn-in or repair of repairable components. Must work closely with company maintenance personnel, Kuwait supply functions, and Sikorsky HSI company. Use extensive supply background to develop a new supply operation with minimal assistance. This is a fast paced environment.
Working Conditions: May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold, wind and extremely high noise levels. This position requires normal physical functions. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Will be required to comply with safety requirements of the Standard Operating Procedures Manual. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, where applicable.
Experience: Must have a minimum of (15) Fifteen years.
Qualification: Must have a good working knowledge of Army, Navy, and Air force supply systems, policies, methods, and technical publications. Must be able to apply the theory of the defense supply systems to implement a program using sound inventory control practices.
Certification: Must be certified to perform tasks specified in the L-3 Vertex Contract Field Team Standard Operating Procedures Manual, if required to perform those tasks.
