Job Description:

Will perform responsibilities as the Export Compliance Advisor for the L-3/IS Joint Cargo Aircraft program. Provides advice and guidance concerning the requirements and obligations of exporting defense articles and services under the International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR). Assists with the development of licensing strategies for the international marketing, sales, support, offshore procurement and manufacturing of defense articles. Prepares, submits, statuses license applications, Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements and other requests for approval to the Office of Defense Trade Controls, U.S. Dept. of State. Determines and certifies appropriate legal authority for exports of defense article hardware, technical data and defense services. May participate in compliance audits and investigations and conduct internal compliance training programs. May act as Empowered Official of the Company. Must be able to have a thorough, practical application based understanding and knowledge of the ITAR, as related to proactively helping L-3/IS program organizations and leadership solve international business pursuit, capture and execution issues. Must have good organizational skills, as well as good verbal and written communication skills and capabilities. Must be able to work effectively with senior level executives. Must be with the able to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment. Sets highest ethical standards for self and others. Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor degree. Must have 6 years exempt experience export licensing with Department of State and/or Department of Commerce. Must have a minimum of 5 years directly related ITAR, EAR and/or AECA experience. Must have some experience with Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) preparation and submittals, and the application and use of resulting ECCN certificates. Must have experience with Microsoft Office Software. Must be able to work overtime as required. Must be able to obtain a security clearance. Must be able to travel.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as typing. Must be able to communicate effectively. Primarily sedentary work. Must have close visual acuity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects. Office environment.
Preferred:
Technical, engineering background, especially with military equipment and systems.
