Job Description:
Interprets federal and state laws, regulations, and orders as they apply to environmental practices. Implements policies and procedures to ensure that these practices are in compliance with the appropriate statutes and regulations, and that reporting requirements are met. Ensures that inspections are conducted, corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is kept. Investigates and resolves compliance problems, questions, or complaints received from within the company, customers, government regulatory agencies, etc. Develops and implements programs designed to increase employee awareness and knowledge of compliance policies. Audits and evaluates current policies, procedures, and factors or stresses arising in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health or well-being, or significant discomfort and inefficiency among workers or citizens of the community. Coordinates monitoring of workplace environments throughout the corporation documentation for compliance with government laws and regulations. Does not litigate.
