Director of Operations.
National truck rental firm needs Director of Operations, Salt Lake City, UT location. Required previous large scale national operations experience and knowledge. Will cultivate and maintain relationships with multiple national body shop/repair shop vendors to check status of vehicle repair, inventory, progress, finished work, details, price, etc. Prefer vehicle operations experience (truck/auto/trailer/bus, etc). Will maintain strong personal relationships with US repair shop vendors/auctions (i.e, ADESA and/or Manheim). Will manage Eastern Fleet Manager and western fleet vendors who travel to US auto auctions and supervise vendors (repair shops), check vehicles, inventory, repair progress, and relationship management. Supervise: 10-20. Will oversee operations and maintenance process for thousands of trucks nationwide.
Outline maintenance cost reduction strategy and distribute regular forecast models. Constantly look for areas to reduce company spend
Complex data management and multi-million dollar P&L accountability, including budget creation, expense approval and shop audit oversight
Manage parts purchasing, inventory control and warranty coverage programs
Determine end of life criteria by tracking life cycles of assets and pieces of equipment
Vendor contract negotiation
Create and foster good working relationships with drivers, customers, third-party service providers, and other company partners
Utilize internal systems to monitor service failures and equipment downtime. Make arrangements to expedite priorities
Work with shops to revise PM task lists, performance standards (KPIs) and SOPs that improve maintenance quality and reduce liability
Analysis of completed work to determine ROI routing
Create a performance-based team culture with accountability to successful KPI goals
Identify and grow opportunities within existing and new vendor relationships
This position may require up to 35% travel
10+ years of experience in maintenance shop management of large-sized fleets
Thorough knowledge of all phases of a body shop operation
Understanding profit and loss statements
Extremely organized record-keeping practices
Microsoft Excel proficiency
Experience with shop software and reporting tools
Ability to manage, coach, counsel, discipline, and develop employees
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with national and privet Auto Auctions
Detail oriented and deeply analytical
Familiarity with DealerSocket, AutoIMS, Mitchell or similar software required
BS degree preferred
