JOB DESCRIPTION

Lead Radiation Therapist. Clinic is the only one with Gamma Knife. May work 1-2 days a week at another site 45 min from main clinic.

35 FTE`s between both Clinics.

5 Oncologists.

Perform RT Therapy duties alongside team. This would include preparing treatment rooms, reviewing and interpreting patient charts, reviewing and verifying prescriptions, treatment plans, etc., setting up immobilization devices, monitoring record keeping, etc.

Review Radiation Therapy programs, make recommendations to other care team managers and colleagues that would expand or improve the quality of care.

Review appropriate written policies/procedures on an ongoing basis, and ensure appropriate documentation of revisions.

Design, implement and oversee a technical quality assurance program in Radiation Therapy. Assure these programs are in general agreement with the recommendations of appropriate bodies (e.g. ACR, AAPM).

Ensure smooth operation of CT simulation and radiation treatment, through adherence to established policies and procedures, and resolving inter/intra departmental conflicts. Take steps to improve and implement streamlined work processes, working with leadership and providers to effect positive change.

Develop and/or assist with all necessary therapist duties involving machinery, equipment, supplies, etc. Monitor and manage use and inventory of supplies.

Serve as mentor and coach to others. Help troubleshoot for issues with equipment, patient set-up or treatment, etc.

Serve as active and collaborative participant in ROILS, Safety Committee Meetings, Radiation Safety Meetings, Weekly Chart Rounds-Anchorage, Planning Conference.

Work collaboratively with management and their teams to meet patient needs and assure high quality of service.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have ARRT

Must have a Bachelors Degree in Radiology

Must have a minumum of 3-5 years of experience

Education:
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
