JOB DESCRIPTION

Analytical Chemist/Senior Scientist

JOB SUMMARY:

Under supervision of the Head of Analytical Services, the Analytical Chemist/Senior Scientist will routinely lead method development/validation projects in a cGMP environment. For this position, HPLC based methodologies
are commonly employed (Agilent 1100 Series System). The Analytical Chemist/Senior Scientist will be accountable for HPLC sample analyses along with the generation of test procedures/validation protocols/reports and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP`s). The position will require a general knowledge of
basic wet chemistry techniques including but not limited to pH, Osmolality, and titrations. The position requires motivational and leadership behaviors as well as expertise in functional competencies included in the position profile.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Advanced skills with respect to HPLC method development/validation.
Develops and validates methods. Writes test procedures, protocols and reports.
Understands the theoretical basis of methods/experiments.
Maintains strong knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and scientific methodologies necessary to perform assigned tasks.
Analyzes results for technical correctness/accuracy. Evaluates and interprets data.
Drives initiatives outside of standard work function.
Requires effective writing, documentation, and organizational skills.
Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment free from safety hazards.

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (includes education, background, skills and expertise):

The person in this role should possess the following experience, abilities and attributes:
B.S./M.S. in chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences with minimum 5 years HPLC development/validation experience preferred.
HPLC method development/validation utilizing Agilent Open Lab Software.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

Agilent Open Lab Software Experience, along with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience with cGMP, FDA, USP, and ICH guidelines

Education:
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
