The Loan Review - Program Manager will expand, implement and manage the client banks loan review and governance program.

  • Directs the ongoing independent evaluation of the Banks commercial and specialty loan portfolios quality.
  • Safeguard compliance with recognized policies, regulatory guidelines, sound lending practices and the stability of lending practices and actions.
  • Work under limited direction and provides feedback to Executive Management.
  • Performs credit administration reviews.
  • Submit written reports detailing internal loan and credit administration reviews, complete with risk evaluations and associated data to Management.
  • Construct and submit the loan review risk assessment, program, and goals to Executive bank leadership for approval.
  • Complete loan reviews of intricate loan types and samples standardized portfolios including large, complex or high-risk lending areas.

Loan Review - Program Manager: Duties

  • Detect potential systemic problems in the life cycle of a credit from origination, underwriting, documentation, and problem loans.
  • Track corrective action of noted weaknesses through to resolution and report such action or inaction to executive leadership.
  • Utilize formal methodology to set the loan review scope and prepare ongoing risk assessments of the Banks various portfolios.
  • Conduct credit risk assessments by evaluating the financial position of borrowers considering prudent lending practices through financial/cash flow analysis and applying credit principles and banking regulations.
  • Detect potential systemic problems in the life cycle of a credit from origination, underwriting, documentation, and problem loans.
  • Review loan policies and procedures compliance with relevant state, UCC and federal banking laws and regulations.
  • Prepare written reports. Summarize overall review findings including risk grade changes, impairment recommendations, and recommendations aimed at improving the quality of certain loans, the departments credit administration practices, or compliance with lending policies.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulators, as needed.
  • Validate the accuracy of the inputs to the models utilized in the credit grading/loan review system.
  • Develop internal loan review procedures to evaluate credit administration and residual credit risk, as well as manage the loan review program.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of and adherence to Bank loan policies and procedures.
  • Endorse appropriate loan risk grade or adversely classify loans, particularly those with credit weaknesses that endanger the repayment.
  • Assess the activities of lending personnel, ensuring such activities are compliant with lending policies and the quality of their loan approval, monitoring, and risk grading valuation.
  • Discuss all well-known deficiencies and recognized weaknesses, and any existing or planned corrective actions, including time frames for correction, with apt loan officers and managers.

Loan Review - Program Manager: Position Requirements

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point).
  • Motivate and persuade others to achieve desired outcomes without organizational authority.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Prioritizing deliverables in a fast-paced and changing work environment.
  • Utilize conflict resolution skills to improve the Banks goals and objectives.
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance with a minimum of 10 + years of direct loan review or loan audit experience, or a minimum of 6 + years of equivalent lending, credit underwriting or portfolio management experience.
  • Lead the work of others and provide training, coaching and mentoring.
  • Facilitate meetings ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas and problems are addressed.
  • Perform fundamental human resource management activities.
  • M.B.A. preferred but not mandatory
  • Credit risk management best practices, policies and procedures.
  • Loan accounting, credit analysis, financial analysis, lending practices, banking regulations, and the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).
  • Financial analysis including ratio, trend, and cash flow analysis.
  • Lending policy, procedures, loan documentation and appraisal requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills to prepare and present persuasive oral and written reports effectively to bank personnel of all levels, including internal and external auditors and regulatory examiners.

University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
