Montgomery College is seeking a full-time Nursing faculty member for the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus.
Assignment begins August 2010, contingent upon available funding.

This position is part of a collective bargaining unit and requires payment of dues or a service fee. Participation in a retirement plan is a condition of employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The faculty members will be responsible for classroom and clinical instruction of students in assigned course(s). Evening and Saturday hours may be required.
- Course assignments are made based on program needs and faculty may be expected to develop competency in other areas of nursing.
- Faculty members are assigned a workload consisting of a standard minimum of thirty (30) equivalent semester hours per academic year.
- Faculty members are expected to participate in program curriculum and course development, evaluation and revision, advising students toward program completion, and participation with College community in academic governance.
Required:
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing.
- Maryland and District of Columbia Registered Nurse unencumbered license or eligibility to obtain.
- Recent bedside nursing experience required.
- Computer literacy (e.g. Microsoft Word, Outlook and Powerpoint) required.
- Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing.
Preferred:
- Previous didactic and clinical teaching experience.
- Recent bedside nursing experience in acute care settings.
- Experience in pediatrics and/or community-based nursing practice.
