The Montgomery County Refugee Training Program is seeking a part-time nursing instructor to teach in our Geriatric Nursing Assistant program. The program is about 160 hours long (110 classroom hours, 42 clinical hours, and 6 CPR). The nursing curriculum is already developed and has been approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
Required Qualifications:
- R.N. with bachelor’s degree & CPR trainer certification.
- Recent hospital, nursing home, or LTC experience.
- Successful completion of, or willingness to attend upon hiring a 16-hour course on Principles of Adult Education for CNA Instructors.
- Relevant teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Special interest in working with foreign-born or refugee students.
- Sensitivity to and interest in cross-cultural issues and second language learning.
Part-time faculty positions are Non-Bargaining without benefits.
