Process Engineer / Technician

Description
1.STATEMENT OF FUNCTION:
•Provide technical support and expertise to production shops concerning plant processes, product quality and equipment. Possess a detailed understanding of product flow, process, raw materials and product quality imperatives. The Process Engineer is responsible for the operational specification and may assist in the justification of new or modified production equipment. The basic mission of the Process Engineer is to deliver process conditions that allow production to reach target properties at a maximum efficiency.
2.DUTIES OF POSITION:
•Make improvements in efficiency (% run time), productivity (product/hr.) and quality (%NC) for area of responsibility.
•Test and evaluate new processes (equipment, raw materials, and recipes).
•Establish and maintain process specs for area of responsibility.
•Verify new production set-up.
•Identify process and quality problems and assist with their resolution (root cause analysis, implementation of procedures to prevent reoccurrence).
•Develop and maintain good communication/coordination with production, customers and support groups.
•Assist in assessing long-term industrial hygiene, quality and capacity needs. Assist in developing a strategy to meet these needs.
•Serve as a technical resource.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or related degree)
