Field Service Equipment Support Technician

Statement of function:
The Field Service Equipment Support Technician is the primary maintenance and engineering liaison to support Michelin dealers using the Michelin Retread process. This function includes regularly scheduled visits to our dealers to perform maintenance, training, calibration and installation and commission of new equipment. The technician provides twenty-four hour on-call troubleshooting support via the telephone and in some cases these problems may require on site support with short notice. The technician is responsible for developing solutions to improve equipment reliability and/or performance, and to document these solutions with work methods and procedures. The technician will be responsible for implementing equipment improvements or repairs at these sites, either as the primary or by managing outside contractors.
Qualifications:
-Completed electrical/maintenance certifications.
-Significant troubleshooting and maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
-Experience with industrial applications using PLC's, AC drive and DC drives.
-Experience with the software tools necessary to support PLC's and AC/DC drives.
-Able to design and support documentation using software tools such as MS Office and AutoCad LT.
-Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
-Must be willing to travel 80% of the time, sometimes with little or no notice.
-Must possess the professionalism required to interface directly with our customers.
-Spanish language skills a plus.
