Description:
The Meadowlands Area YMCA, located in Bergen County, New Jersey, is a rapidly growing and progressive association that is looking for an individual that can contribute to our team.
General Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a comprehensive Annual Support program that will guarantee high level, sustainable fundraising for annual and capital purposes.
- Personally recruit and manage volunteers to solicit individual, corporate and foundation gifts to meet annual support initiatives. The initiatives include but are not limited to: grant proposal writing, sustaining gifts, special events, etc.
- Develop and/or strengthen successful relationships with Board of Directors; Major Funders; private and government foundations; and community and corporate leaders.
- Develop a sound contribution base for continued support of the YMCA’s mission, goals and objectives.
- Communicate the goals, services and accomplishments of the YMCA. Improve the community’s understanding and awareness of the YMCA’s programs, services and image
Qualifications:
Must display excellent organizational skills, think strategically, implement operationally, be able to work in a very hectic environment; be self-directed, innovative, creative, a conceptual planner, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral/written), exercise good judgment; and willing to be a team player. An ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines is necessary.
Ideal candidate will posses a Bachelors Degree in a related field and have a proven track record (preferably with a YMCA), 3 to 5 years of experience in fund raising with success in major gift development and fund raising, knowledge and skills relating to annual, capital and planned giving campaigns, special events and grant writing. Marketing and public relations skills are a plus.
Candidate must be committed to the Mission of the YMCA.

Hours: Full Time exempt
Compensation Package:
Annual salary- $50,000–$65,000. Plus strong association paid benefit package including Health Insurance (medical, dental, prescription and vision) and life insurance; Paid Holidays; Vacation; YMCA Retirement Fund - (after qualifying period).
