Experience: Required - Minimum 5 years of experience in field applicable to this position. BS in EE or equivalent, mathematics, or physics. MATLAB and C/C++ skills for prototyping assessment and metrics evaluation algorithms preferred. Excellent written, verbal and briefing skills. Some travel required. Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.
Desired - Undergraduate emphasis on signal processing, communications, or software development. Some software experience particularly with MATLAB. MSEE desirable. Prior military experience and/or experience in testing, particularly from a systems perspective. Exposure to underwater acoustics and related systems. Demonstrated leadership capability. Willingness to participate in at-sea and in-lab testing.
Job Description: Job Description - Apply software skills, signal processing skills, and system engineering skills to support existing programs in National Security Technology Department. Transition into project management role, leading project team and providing vision for the project.
Duties - Test execution and assessment of sonar technologies (sensor and processing) at algorithm and system level. Technologies to include areas such as adaptive spatial processing, noise spectral estimation, detection, classification, tracking, and localization. Interface with algorithm and system developers to determine test and analysis methodologies and data measurement tap points. Analyze and assess system and algorithmic performance and identify issues. Develop analysis and metrics software as required for evaluations. Develop Test and Measurement Analysis Plans to assist in test execution. Prepare and construct both Quick-Look and detailed Analysis reports on test findings. Prepare detailed briefings on analysis methodology and results. Brief results to sponsors and external organizations.
