A national managed care company has an opening in the Lafayette, Indiana area for a Marketing Assistant. This position provides administrative support to the staff of the Marketing Department and reports to the Director of Client Services. Duties include general research, clerical and project based work. The Marketing Assistant projects a professional company image through in-person and phone interaction.

Education / Previous Experience:
Prefer a minimum of three years related experience and/or training in the marketing field - specific to medical or health insurance industry a plus. Will consider an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Strong computer skills are required including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe PageMaker and Illustrator required. Experience in Goldmine a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate with marketing and sales staff to facilitate marketing functions.
2. Perform general clerical duties including but not limited to: copying, faxing, mailing and filing.
3. Research new market opportunities.
4. Map out potential customers and competitors.
5. Contact and conduct initial follow ups on sales prospects when requested.
6. Update status reports to share with management.
7. Maintain hard copy and electronic filing systems.
8. Setup and coordinate meetings and conferences. Coordinate employee travel to and from marketing related conventions and conferences.
9. Support marketing staff in assigned projects, including but not limited to:
* Contacting and qualifying leads
* Updating prospect information
* Researching for niche markets
* Correspondence to prospects and clients
* Development of marketing presentations
* Preparation of sales proposals
* Preparation of contracts
* Setup accommodation arrangements for company visitors
10. In addition to these typical duties, may perform other duties as assigned and required.

Must have strong organization skills and pay close attention to detail. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
A positive attitude is a must.
Willingness and ability to work non-standard business hours, such as nights and weekends, on an as-needed basis is required. Must be able to cope effectively with deadlines and multiple demands.
