Knowledge, Education and Skills Required:
• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Education or Human Resources.
• 5 or more years of independent experience in entire life cycle of design and delivery of OD and training interventions.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Performance Management and performance appraisal processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced skills with equipment/tools used in a training environment.
• Professional Certification in Learning and Performance ( CPLP) or Human Resources ( SPHR)
• Experience in technology enabled learning and development
Knowledge, Education and Skills Preferred:
• OD and extensive HR experience in large organizations
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Coaching certification
Job Summary:
Sr. Learning and Performance Specialist designs, delivers, evaluates and manages training, organizational development ( OD) and performance management programs and processes for staff and management employees to meet regulatory requirements, business and professional development needs. This person works to develop, preserve, utilize and share knowledge assets to support the core values and strategic goals of Hackensack University Medical Center.
Essential Generic Job Functions (List in order of importance):
1. Develops and conducts training and OD programs for development of staff, management and Leadership.
2. Confers with management to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training for employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures and regulations.
3. Performs needs assessments, analyzes results, and identifies OD/training opportunities based on those results.
4. Formulates program outlines and determines appropriate interventions, utilizing knowledge of organizational development and organizational effectiveness.
5. Designs, develops and implements training materials and programs in both classroom and web- based environments in response to educational needs or business requirements.
6. Designs and implements appropriate metrics to measure and monitor training/OD and performance management interventions.
7. Manages all aspects of the Mentoring Program including soliciting employees, pairing appropriate matches, training and following their progress.
8. Manages all aspects of the Administrative Professionals Excellence Program
9. Facilitates and coaches managers on conducting performance evaluations.
10. Delivers and evaluates the effectiveness of educational offerings to ensure that knowledge and/or skills learned are being applied on the job, and have an impact on staff performance in meeting departmental/organizational goals.
11. Assists with interviewing and hiring of new staff.
12. Participates and makes recommendations on the department’s annual budget.
13. Performs vendor analysis to evaluate commercial training and Performance Management programs and participates in selection.
14. Assists other departmental and organizational projects as needed
