Summary:
HR Anew is seeking a Bookkeeper to join the Finance and Accounting Department reporting to the Controller. This part time position shall provide bookkeeping services, new employee processing, employee benefits enrollment and audit timesheets, process semi-monthly payroll and associated tasks, monitor and process accounts payables, reconcile credit card receivables, monitor and assist with collections, attend staff meetings, respond to and assist in resolving inquiries from employees, vendors, assist with registration for Employer’s Registration with states withholding and unemployment insurance tax, and other related responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process semi-monthly payroll and associated tasks including auditing and resolving timesheet discrepancies, new hire processing, registering employer with states for withholdings and unemployment insurance tax, tracking and reporting employee absences and time off, processing payments for employee benefits, responding to employee inquiries and resolving concerns, and payroll recording and reconciliation in accounting system.
- Verify employee enrollment in eligible benefit programs and audit employee benefit invoices for accuracy.
- Process Account Payables, resolve discrepancies with vendors.
- Track, monitor, and report credit card payments through merchant accounts.
- Assist, address and /or resolve accounts receivables collections.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Create and/or manage the employment, finance, and accounting filing system.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have integrity and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; 2+ years of bookkeeping or junior accounting experience; an associates degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred; experience using QuickBooks and Paychex a plus; competent technology skills including Excel, Word, and Internet; keen attention to details and accuracy; ability to learn and adapt to new payroll, accounting and/or finance software programs; and be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within payroll, finance, and accounting.

Other Work Requirements:
Self-starter who can work a flexible schedule (estimated 32-40 hours per month) – i.e., work minimally 1-2 days between the 1st and 8th day of each month; and 1-2 days between the 16 and 23rd of each month. Excellent communicator verbally and in writing. Able to work in a fast paced, innovative, creative, growing, and progressive work environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to use a computer and routinely type and operate a keyboard; stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger dexterity, handle, or feel objects tools or controls, teach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, bend, climb, kneel, crouch or crawl, have repetitive motions, and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision; color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position is not exposed to conditions and hazards, and/or dangers such as chemicals, blood, noise levels, extreme temperatures, poor lighting, fumes, wetness, vibrations, etc.
