Duties:
Develop and execute Original Equipment Supplier (OES) technology/processes for automotive and/or construction equipment and applications. Test and validate Henkel technology to OES specifications to gain Teroson, Loctite, and Bonderite global approvals. Apply Lean Six Sigma and related tools and methodologies, Critical-to-quality Tree, 5S, Prioritization Matrix, root cause analysis and DOE. Understand and develop Voice of Customer (VOC) and convert into technical Adhesive Development Process (ADP) engineering projects/processes. Analyze and review product characteristics and customer requirements to determine validation objectives and standards. Create process improvement savings and value delivery using technical expertise in adhesives and functional coatings. Use laboratory experience and construction equipment and application technology knowledge to develop new test methods for validation testing. Develop specific OES training programs and future training content to strengthen Loctite, Teroson and Bonderite usage and technical skills of our customers. Mentor and train junior Application Engineers.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of engineering service environment and automotive OEM experience. Specific skills/other requirements - Experience must include (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): automotive or construction equipment components and applications; drafting technical reports and communicating functional and nonfunctional requirements to stakeholders; applying Lean Six Sigma and related tools and methodologies, Critical-to-quality Tree, 5S, Prioritization Matrix, root cause analysis and DOE; creating process improvement savings and value delivery; laboratory experience and knowledge to develop new test methods for validation testing; developing and conducting trainings, presentations and product demonstrations; identifying, classifying, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a manufacturing/engineering environment; serving in a customer-facing role and liaising with customer and product development team; and global team-based project work. Position requires 30% domestic and international travel.
