Dan Schantz Farm & Greenhouses LLC has an immediate opening for a Receiver & Inventory Control Clerk at our main commercial growing, shipping, and warehouse facility located in scenic Lehigh County at 8025 Spinnerstown Road, Zionsville, PA 18092. This is a full-time, year-round position with general work hours of Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. plus longer hours and Saturdays required during busy seasons.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Receive incoming shipments:
  1. Oversee deliveries of items to our commercial greenhouse facility
  2. Upon delivery, confirm counts, inspect quality, handle live plants according to specific instructions, communicate damage or issues with live plants as appropriate
  3. Match deliveries precisely to purchase orders and note any discrepancies
  4. Scan shipping documentation and enter material received to our inventory database
• Organize and maintain stock:
  1. Ensure all items are properly tagged, labeled, and safely stored in appropriate area
  2. Maintain physical counts and track adjustments due to damage or transfer
  3. Keep all warehouse and storage areas safe, clean, orderly, carefully organized
• Make supply requests:
  • Continually review inventory to determine what supplies must be ordered
  • Prepare purchase orders and submit to our Purchasing Manager
  • Track status of orders and communicate any challenges regarding shipment and delivery to the Purchasing Manager

• Coordinate production supplies:
  • Prepare and place daily supplies needed for production crews as directed by Production Manager
  • Accurately track material used and return any unused supplies to appropriate area
  • Coordinate with our off-site Location Managers regarding the transfer of inventory
  • Schedule transfers through our Dispatch Manager in timely manner

Qualifications or skills needed:

• At least one year of receiving & inventory control experience
• Basic computer aptitude, including Microsoft Excel and database applications
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Ability to effectively communicate and make good decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Intrinsic motivation to achieve goals and contribute to success of team and company
• Horticultural knowledge or education helpful

Must be able to:

• Operate equipment, including forklift and pallet jacks
• Stand and walk for long periods of time each day
• Lift, carry, move 25+ pounds
• Push, pull, maneuver rolling greenhouse shipping carts
• Work in greenhouse environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, dirt, dust, and other possible allergens
