Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operates all scales, meters, mixers, and pumps involved in the process of mixing pizza sauce. Accurately weighs all relevant ingredients into properly-labeled containers using established methods and procedures. Records necessary batch information including but not limited to: ingredient lot numbers, temperatures and machine settings. Performs Ross transactions accurately. Assists in feeding crust on conveyors. Ensures that the outer layer of ingredient packaging is removed or cleaned, whichever is applicable, prior to dumping or using. Ensures that all necessary equipment needed for the next production run is ready, clean, and in working order prior to the start of that product. Sets timers or program devices on mixer or associated panels prior to starting the mixer. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Assures that all equipment has cover guards. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department, line or team. Assists in breaks and lunches. Maintains a clean work environment. Confers with other Leads and Shift Supervisors in order to best plan changeovers. Performs or assists Maintenance on minor repairs or adjustments. Suggests ways to control labor and supply costs as well as improve processes. Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement. Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed. Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices). Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place. Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management. Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
Education, Skills and Experience: Education: High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Skills and Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work overtime, irregular hours or rotating shifts. Ability to speak, write and understand English. Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, formulas, and policy and procedures manuals. Ability to write standard information into related paperwork. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure including but not limited to pounds, ounces, grams, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and temperatures. Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment. Essential Skills and Experience:
Organizational Structure: The Topping Production Sauce Mixer will report directly to the Topping Production Supervisor. Compensation Average annual salary: $35,000 - $45,000/year which includes: Hourly pay of $16.30-$17.55/hour, based on experience Overtime after 40 hours per week; average work week 40-50 hours per week Opportunities for advancement positions paying $50K-$60K/year Benefits Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, and Voluntary Life) - 1st of the month following 60 days PTO - 8 Personal after 60 days and begin earning additional PTO after 180 days of employment - 401K Saving and Retirement Plan
