Maintenance Lube Technician (3rd Shift)

Job Location: Schaumburg, IL

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates related equipment as needed or assigned.
Lubricates necessary equipment, bearings, as scheduled and or assigned.
Performs all daily checklists as required.
Observes equipment to make sure it is operating to OEM standard.
Provides feedback for repairs needed during non producing shifts.
Requests parts and maintains and organizes lubrication supply areas.
Completes any necessary paperwork.
Completes Work Orders that are assigned to them.
Performs upgrades or changes to equipment if needed.
Reports back to maintenance shop for further assignments.
Fabricates parts as needed or required.
Generates part/supply requisitions based on low levels.
Provides assistance as needed throughout facility to meet production schedules and or equipment needs.
Suggests ways to control labor and supply costs as well as improve processes.
Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) are followed.
Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place.
Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

Essential Skills and Experience:
Education:
High school diploma, GED or trade school equivalent.

Skills and Experience:
Ability to work overtime, irregular hours or rotating shifts.
One year related experience and/or training in general maintenance.

Previous food manufacturing experience is helpful.
Ability to speak, write and understand English.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, formulas, and policy and procedures manuals.
Ability to write standard information into related paperwork.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Experience with Microsoft applications.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant and corporate environments.
Ability to effectively present information to management.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful.
Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted, and frequently lift and/or move 51 - 100 pounds with lifting equipment or with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a plant production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job in the plant, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles. Employee may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures that range from below zero (0) degrees Fahrenheit to over ninety (90) degrees Fahrenheit. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. While in the plant, the employee is required to utilize the required personal protective equipment.

Organizational Structure:
The Maintenance Lube Technician will report directly to the Preventative Maintenance Supervisor.
