General Ledger Accountant DEPARTMENT: Accounting REPORTS TO: Controller FLSA STATUS: Exempt POSITION TYPE: Full-Time POSITION SUMMARY: The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for the accounting activities of the company in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP). The position will be responsible for account reconciliation and monthly maintenance of the general ledger. In addition to excellent technical and analytical skills, the General Ledger Accountant will need strong interpersonal skills to work across functional boundaries and throughout all levels of the organization, including the Executive Management team, operations, marketing, sales, and outside relationships including auditors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Documenting financial transactions by entering account information
- Summarizing current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports
- Performing Bookkeeping activities
- Performing Bank Reconciliation for multiple bank accounts
- Administer general business activities which are related to accounting measures
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor Degree in accounting or related field
- 4+ years experience in accounting
- Strong analytical skills
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize key business initiatives
- Experience in the retail and/or agricultural industry
- CPA preferred
