The Service Engineer will provide sales supporting service offerings and products to Account Managers (outside sales) and customers. Responsibilities Demonstrates and promotes Crane's core values (Act with Integrity and Respect, Foster Teamwork, focus on the Customer, Strive for Excellence and Innovation, Project Passion and Energy and Have Fun) Communicates to internal team members on pertinent details of sales and marketing transactions Supports and keeps sales and management team members informed of major projects; assists office and service technicians with application and product information Provides technical sales and marketing support to Crane customers and team members Develops the product and application knowledge necessary to service the needs of our customers and sales team members Arranges and directs service and installation of products and equipment Assists customers and internal team members with alternative service options Contacts current and prospective customers to explain features and solicit orders Estimates prices, credit or contract terms, warranties and service dates Consults with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support Monitors market conditions, product innovations and competitors' products, prices and sales Negotiates details of contracts and payments with assistance and prepares sales contracts and purchase orders Demonstrates developed skills to handle RFQs and service order process assisting Account Managers Demonstrates strategy in margin growth through obtaining discounts and inventory decision-making Owns project management activities while meeting deadlines, including but not limited to IOM's, spare parts quotes, and submittals Controls incoming service orders Demonstrates on-going leadership qualities May perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field preferred. Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Customer-service focused individual that successfully responds to technical and non-technical customer and team member inquiries. Ability to handle a varied and fast-paced workload to meet customer requirements for projects. Well-organized and self-directed team player. Ability to prospect for business (hunter mentality). Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Displays a high level of enthusiasm, self-motivation, and positive attitude. Ability to establish rapport and build relationships with external and internal customers. Exercises good troubleshooting skills and Mechanical Aptitude.
