Job Title: Survey Crew Chief I - (602.3) Organizational Unit: Survey - Survey (00.05X.050) Location: Bridgeport, WV, US 26330 Job Type: Full-time Exemption Type: Non-Exempt Education: High School / GED Category: Survey Travel: 90-100%
We are looking for a Survey Crew Chief, in our Bridgeport, WV office. Responsibilities include but are not limited too; - Responsible for conducting land surveys adhering to standards and practices of modern surveying.
- Supervise survey technician(s).
- Perform survey computations, including level note reduction, traverse calculations and calculations for construction layouts.
- Adjust survey instruments.
- Make proper entries in survey field books
- Red and interpret property descriptions, right-of-ways maps and other engineering related blue prints.
- Performs GPS data acquisition, topographic field surveys and boundary surveys.
- Assist in the review of property and right-of-way descriptions prepared for various functions.
- Research to acquire survey records and information.
- Generate survey drawings through the use of computer software and plotters.
- Communicate surveying needs to Survey Project Managers (s) as necessary
- Adhere to all applicable safety procedures.
PM19
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of surveying operations and procedures and the principles, practices and techniques of field surveying.
- Possesses a basic knowledge of mathematics through trigonometry and its application to surveying computations.
- Possesses a considerable knowledge of civil engineering and construction specifications and plans related to field surveying.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying
- 1 - 5 Years of Experience in Surveying
- Professional Surveyors License
Working Conditions: Survey Crew Chiefs must be able to work indoors as well as outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Physical Requirements: Survey Crew Chiefs must have the physical ability to walk rugged terrain, for extended periods of time, carrying survey equipment.
