The Admissions Manager provides technical supervision and operational leadership to the department. Uses the established principles of delegation and supervision to direct the activities of all Admissions support staff. Achieves admissions operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to functional strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change. Prevents admissions conflicts by conferring with physicians on admissions priorities and bed availability; identifying issues needing resolution; resolving disagreements/conflicts or referring issues to others in a position to decide. Assures accuracy of patient data and fiscal information by reviewing audits and other reports of patient data and fiscal information. REQUIREMENTS Two years of college or community college, preferably in business or health care or High School plus 1 year business experience, health care preferred. HFMA's Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification within 6 months after assuming the Admissions Manager role. Knowledge of Admission Standards as they relate to payers, regulators and accrediting bodies is required. Basic knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPC and medical terminology is required. Working knowledge of claims submission processes for all major insurance carriers, intermediaries, Medicare and Medicaid strongly preferred. Position requires efficient data entry skills, balancing figures, compilation of statistics and understanding of reconciliation processes. pm20 99999
