As a member of our cross-functional engineering team, you will conceive, design and develop innovative and intuitive PC desktop applications that help users save energy, improve comfort, and enhance the functionality of every space. In this role, your unique talents will help us discover new technologies, design techniques, and process improvement methods to bring elegant applications to our customers.
You will be working on
- Working hands-on with IoT systems to design and implement customer-facing software capabilities
- Integrating native desktop apps with embedded devices and cloud systems
- Building applications with a modern UX for the latest PC technologies
- Driving highly visible software projects end-to-end that will be used by a large customer base in a wide range of applications
- Researching emerging technology trends and working with external consultants to improve the overall software offering at Lutron
- Building world class applications, providing an exquisite user experience
- Implementing loosely coupled, resilient and secure software systems
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to a development team
- Looking for opportunities to innovate by bringing new techniques, processes, and technologies
- Keeping on top of emerging technology trends, especially related to IoT, cloud and smart home/building technologies
Your skills and qualifications
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering
- Solid Computer Science fundamentals including data structures, object-oriented programming concepts, algorithms, design patterns
- Multi-threaded, asynchronous and concurrent application design and development
- Git expert (i.e. Gitflow, conflict resolution)
- Scrum/Agile/SAFe methods
- Documentation/Communication
- Unit Testing and CI/CD
- Proficiency developing large applications with C# and .NET
- An eye for user-interface design, customer experience, and attention to detail (WPF experience is nice to have)
- Database design (SQL) and Network protocols (TCP, HTTP, MQTT)
