The User Experience team at Lutron is a group of creative, diverse and human-centered designers. The team is dedicated to delivering world class experiences by understanding customer needs and using that as the foundation for the design of innovative and intuitive solutions.
As a Senior Design Researcher, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects at the intersection of the physical and digital world. You will use your skills in the following areas:
- Lead design research projects and collaborate with Business to create product roadmaps
- Strategize and execute research strategies from concept through validation.
- Empathize with users and uncover latent needs
- Synthesize and simplify data for sharing
- Collaborate with engineering and business leaders on prioritizing and reframing problems
- Co-create innovative solutions to problems
- Quickly develop lean experiments and prototypes to validate solutions
What we're looking for:
The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio and the following qualifications / qualities:
- BA/BS/MS in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Human-
Computer Interaction, Industrial Design or related field - 5+ years of experience doing generative User Research and
experience doing ideation and solutioning - Skilled at working with stakeholders in Business, Design,
and Engineering - Fundamental knowledge of best practices in design
thinking, lean, & user-centered design principles - Passion & expertise in utilizing emerging technologies like
AI, IoT, conversational UI to create wizard-of-oz tests - Strong planning skills including the ability to manage
bandwidth and handle competing priorities - Drive to maintain a high standard of research output, even
under pressure and shorter timelines - Deep sense of empathy & effective communication skills
