Lutron Electronics Co. Inc., has an immediate need for a Model Shop Operations Manager based in Pennsylvania at our World Headquarters. This opportunity is for an experienced leader to manage day-to-day operations while working closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams to produce intricate engineering prototypes and innovative tooling essential for manufacturing. This position will focus on daily operations, customer service, and efficiency improvements to support our business growth goals. The ideal candidate will support this with a sense of curiosity and an ever-growing drive to do things faster, better, and more cost effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide world class customer service to Lutron Engineering and Manufacturing in a vital role that supports new product development, manufacturing, and innovation
- Provide leadership for Lutron's internal machine shop service
- Facilitate on-time delivery by managing raw material to finished good workflow
- Manage daily work assignment and job planning
- Mentor and develop direct reports
- Manage and evolve the work order process
- Manage raw material and tooling inventory
- Maintain vendor relationships and expand outsource vendor base
- Identify and implement improvements for capability, capacity, and cost savings
- Promote and support a safe working environment
- Lead quarterly Model Shop Council meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree demonstrating academic success (minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.0)
- 5 or more years of industry experience in operations planning or production management
- Experience in manufacturing, machining and/or rapid prototyping is a plus
