Job Summary: Designs ingredient handling systems with an emphasis on Electrical and Controls primarily within the food production industry. This position requires a wide degree of creativity and latitude. This position must work collaboratively across departments to ensure that each project meets all requirements for functionality, budget and schedule.
Essential Functions: Design and program controls engineering of dry and liquid ingredient handling systems based on proposed scope of work, customer requirements/specifications, industry and government regulations, and Shick Esteve design standards. Engineering includes: creating ladder logic code, graphical interface development, integration and creation of batch and recipe management systems, sequence of operations, PID loop tuning, on-site commissioning/start up support; customer interactions; manage individual project schedules and budgeted hours. Investigate project variables and design electrical controls system to best serve customer expectations while staying within project schedule and budget. Work with other controls engineers (hardware) to ensure all I/O is captured and accurate. Oversight of outsource vendors for adherence to Shick Esteve standards. 40% travel expected; mostly 1-week trips; occasional longer trips due to project size. Other duties as assigned. .Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field highly preferred.
- 0-3 years programming experience Allen Bradley Preferred.
- Experience programming HMIs Factory Talk View (ME); (SE) a Plus; Wonderware.
- Knowledgeable in reading and creating P&IDs.
- Working knowledge of programming standards
- Knowledge of pneumatic conveying; baking industry a plus.
- Ability to perform hands-on troubleshooting of controls, (power equipment and instruments) at customer site locations.
- Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time; mostly 1-week trips; occasional longer trips due to project size.
