Description:

Answers benefit questions directed to the Benefit Helpline in a timely and efficient manner with

emphasis on providing good customer service

Administer and monitor the leave of absence process to include coordination with payroll,

documentation and tracking of FMLA and maintenance of legislative updates to remain

compliant with all laws and regulations at the federal and state levels

Maintains workers' compensation records, as well as handles annual OSHA

reporting and coordinates required posting

Investigates accidents, reports injuries/illnesses to workers' compensation vendor

Processes Workers' Compensation Invoices and assist with the annual workers'

compensation audit

Responsible for administration of COBRA process including qualifying event determination, COBRA elections and enrollments and claims payments and reconciliations

Process Life Insurance claims and requests for EOI processing along with maintenance of

Life insurance assignments

Prepares Welfare Plan IRS Form 5500 and all schedules to ensure accuracy and timely filing,

as well as preparation and distribution of Summary Annual Report

Prepares all retirement and welfare 5500's ensuring accuracy and meeting compliance

deadlines

Assists in the preparation and completion of retirement plan audit and testing

Processes retirement plan changes to include deferral changes, rollovers, loans and

Distributions

Develops and conducts the benefit overview for new hires as needed

Completes/Analyzes benefit surveys to compare the company's benefits against the market

Prepares monthly premium reports for various benefit plans, self-billing process and

payment to vendors

Researches and resolves issues relating to benefits and payroll through the effective use of

vendors, brokers, system and company policies and procedures in an efficient manner

Works closely with the Human Resources Manager during the open enrollment process to include

communications, premiums, meetings and benefit administration

Monitors overage dependent enrollment and communicate changes

Performs other projects / duties as may be assigned

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to analyze reports and data

Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

Flexibility and adaptability to changing work priorities, work flow and work assignments

Thorough knowledge of ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations as related to employer sponsored

benefit plans

Ability to follow retirement plan policies and guidelines ensuring comformance with company

and govermental requirements

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and various applications to include

HRIS technology

Acute attention to detail.

Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions based on policy/company practice;
