PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Cost Accounting Manager, the Manufacturing Accountant is responsible for accurately completing a variety of tasks and analysis related to inventory, job costing, manufacturing variances, finished goods pricing, financial reporting, and other accounting processes. The Manufacturing Accountant will have a direct impact on improving and maintaining the integrity of master data, increasing inventory accuracy, and verifying related financial transactions. This position will work closely with the CFO, Director of Finance, and co-workers at all levels within the organization.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor item records and BOMs for completion and accuracy
Review Master Data Packets for accuracy and evaluate finished good pricing
Analyze WIP and completed production work orders
Review and maintain item standard cost updates and roll-ups
Regularly generate, analyze, and publish inventory reports
Track and reconcile forecasted, firm, and cancelled sales orders and production jobs
Evaluate manufacturing variance GL activity such as inventory adjustments, PPV, and yield loss
Track Destruction Authorization and Material Rejection forms through various stages to completion
Assist in month-end closing by preparing reconciliations, reports, and journal entries as necessary
Participate in pricing of commercial goods and project management manufacturing deliverables
Support physical inventory processes, execution, and accounting
Assist in audits and year end routines
Participate in and complete special projects as required
Perform other administrative duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION:
Required (i.e. knowledge, prior experience)
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel- using pivot tables, filters, and VLOOKUPs
Proficient in other Microsoft applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
Ability to research and use critical thinking skills to problem solve, plan, and organize
Great attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Commitment to quality, process improvement, and teamwork
Solid written and verbal communication skills, including interactions with all levels of company personnel
Understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles
Accounting experience in a manufacturing ERP system Preferred
