The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for pursuing and growing the business. The applicant must have a strong & successful background in new customer/business development, with broad technical experience in Aviation. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills enabling improved relationships across the existing Harper customer base while adding new customers. The individual is responsible for:
Defining the companys market area and competitive position within the industry.
Researching customer needs and wants with both new & existing customers.
Identifying new product applications & market opportunities.
Creating marketing and sales plans for new products and applications.
This is an individual contributor role and does not directly supervise any staff members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Identify customers and applications which support Company long-term business and technical strategic plan.
Strengthen relationships with existing customers and develop new customers which result in mutually beneficial strategic alliances.
Identify and analyze segment competitors and competitor strengths and strategies.
Co-develop with the Engineering Department technical marketing plans focused on new and existing products / customers.
Create focused business and strategic marketing plans for assigned industry segments and/or customers.
Provide Customer input for internal investment requirements.
Support proposal activity from initial request for information up to and including contract negotiation/award.
Interface with customers, prime contractors and government officials for purpose of introducing, marketing, negotiating or servicing company contracts.

Leadership & Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to lead and communicate strategic vision yet comfortable and confident operating in a team environment. Committed to developing relationship and inspiring team members through free and open discussion of problems, tasks and ideas.
Analytical skills: Must possess ability to gather information and evaluate data for complex problem solving and decision making.
Technical skills: Must possess broad technical background in Aviation. Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
Time Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and effectively deal with time-sensitive deadlines and pressure.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences is required; second or advanced degree in Business and/or Engineering is preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years related technical and business development/sales experience desired.
