Kettering Health Network's experienced cancer care team delivers cutting edge treatments and facilities to the Greater Dayton and Northern Cincinnati areas. Our mission is to not only extend cancer care treatments, but to also provide education, support and ongoing guidance to our patients and the communities we serve.



Responsibilities

The Cancer Center Outpatient Clinical Dietitian is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Providing quality medical nutrition therapy to patients diagnosed with cancer through skillful nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating individualized nutrition care plans
  • Participating in the interdisciplinary care of patients and communicating effectively with other health care professionals
  • Educating patients and their caregivers about therapeutic diets and nutritional needs
  • Maintaining up-to-date professional knowledge and participating in continuing education and staff development activities
  • Serving as a preceptor/mentor for dietetic interns and department staff
  • Providing outstanding customer service and accepting responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all

Applicants must have:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy and experience with business and nutrition software applications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®)
  • Completed an ACEND®-accredited Dietetic Internship, Coordinated Program, or Individualized Supervised Practice Pathway (ISPP)
  • Current Credentials as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration, or Registration Eligible and able to obtain Registration within 6 months of hire
  • Active Ohio license as Dietitian/Nutritionist prior to the first day of employment


Qualifications

Kettering Health Network prefers applicants have:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nutrition experience
  • Prior experience in oncology and nutrition support
  • Board Certification as a Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO)
