Duties:
Perform software development and engineering, including geospatial domain; develop and create mapping products that are highly available, performant, and near real-time; drive continuous re-architecture improving service latency, accuracy of content, service robustness, and cost-of-ownership; ensure UniMapSystem architecture meets current and future business needs in supporting a service-oriented architecture; use C++ for computer system design; develop websites and software using Python; collaborate with management, development teams, and the SRE organization to define, create, deploy, and support a standardized set of DevOps policies, including technologies, runbooks, templates, and best practices for the UniMap Engineering Organization; merge data from multiple sensors using sensor fusion; define, develop, and maintain a core set of enabling libraries and tools for UniMap data and product creation; perform container management using deployment tools such as Kubernetes and Docker; run virtual applications using data pipeline streaming tools such as Apache Flink and Apache Spark; support a standard set of technologies, frameworks and best practices which will be used across the UniMap ecosystem; automate new code using Gitlab CI/CD; follow UniMap Engineering best practices; perform AWS cloud deployment; and utilize the latest HERE Platform technologies and features.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience in Software development/engineering or any occupation in which the required experience was gained or, alternatively, a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience Software development/engineering or any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Specific skills/other requirements - Experience must include (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Python; C++; sensor fusion techniques utilizing probability estimation or deep learning models to perform decision-making in various applications; designing, deploying, and integrating Docker and Kubernetes in distributed environments; configuring, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD workflows within GitLab for building, testing, and deploying applications; AWS cloud deployment; and geospatial analysis and mapping technologies utilizing GIS tools and geospatial data analysis techniques.
